MISSION AND VISION: To improve the lives of young adults so they can empower their communities. To build communities that are economically self sustainable and will improve equitable access to wellness, economic mobility, and better quality of life.
Our History
Ones Up draws its roots under the name of Rising Sons as a student male discussion group, founded at Ursinus College after an unfortunate racial incident occurred on campus. Our group’s purpose was to unite the underrepresented male students on the campus as they conversed about issues facing their communities.
The group began organizing clothing and canned food drives, campus events, and fundraisers. This led to mentoring and professional development programs. The development of these programs over the years, has improved the accessibility to employment, education, and entrepreneurship for the youth and young adults in our program.
Ones Up Community Action Team
Ones Up Community Action Team is a 6 month youth leadership program that creates a space for young people to address current issues through civic engagement while gaining leadership, civic, and job skills. Programming includes:
Civic Engagement Training
Place-Based Canvassing
Producing and Posting Social Media Content
Conducting Community Projects
Gathering Voices of The Community
Interactive Canvassing / Voter Engagement
